North Powder, Oregon Train Derailment
This emergency spill response project, involving three engines and twenty-nine double-stacked flatbed cars, resulted in a diesel fuel release of approximately 3,000 to 4,000 gallons. The unrecoverable product covering a 2-acre parcel was burned using field burning techniques.

Port of Hood River
Two concrete septic tanks containing a regulated pesticide/sewer waste mixture required treatment of the biohazard characteristic before the waste could be transported for disposal at an EPA approved hazardous waste incinerator.

Rexam Image Products
A solvent recovery unit required decontamination and demolition, which included packaging all resulting waste and recycling of all metals. Approximately 90,000 pounds of solvent impacted carbon was removed, transported, and recycled.

Roseburg Forest Products
PCB transformer handling services that include spill response stand-by, draining, preparation for transportation, and facilitation of transportation and disposal.

Port of Longview
PCB contaminated soil delineation, excavation, transportation, and disposal services, as well as PCB transformer management services.

Chemical Reaction Response
A tote containing a sodium hydrosulfite mixture exposed to moisture caused a reaction during transportation. Material required further treatment to eliminate reacting characteristics and was later transported to a proper disposal facility.

CESI performs life safety standby services, along with confined space entry projects for a number of clients.
